“OMG I think I’m pregnant, but I thought I couldn’t get pregnant if I did it standing up”

With the outraging percentage of teen pregnancies and STD outbreaks in most high schools, Its time to give the students the one class their hammering for Sexual Education.

Most teens to day are confused on the ins and outs of sex and the consequences that come along with it. Constitution high needs Sexual education for these reasons. The teen pregnancy rate in Constitution High School alone is ridiculous. “The teen pregnancy rate is so high its ridiculous,” said a student who currently attends Constitution HS We at least have 1 to 2 girls pregnant a year. If we had sex ed. we wouldn’t have all these babies having babies. Also the nation wide STD out break in high school children is very high also. If we had Sex ed. we can teach these teens how to protect them selves from disease.

Students are confused and have many questions that go unanswered. This is a major reason why we need Sex ed. Most of the time when we do ask the questions we need answered teachers or other treat us like kids instead of the young adults that most of us have proven our selves to be. “ My first time was a little iffy” that’s what one student says when being interviewed. If only he had someone to answer his question it wouldn’t be so iffy. So Being as though we don’t have anyone to answer these questions we make up our own answers or just dismiss them. At times can cause someone his or her health.

One student said, “sex is a powerful thing, we need education to handle it the right way.”
Sex bring along many different consequences. Yet it may feel at the moment but we need sex to show us young adults to not live in the moment but to think of future also.

NHD Reflection

My partner and I did an exhibit on Ruby Bridges for NHD. I learned that Ruby Briges was only 6 years old when she desegragated william frantz elementary school in Tyler town, Mississippi. When the NAACP first came to her parents about helping to desegragate William Frantz she was supposed to be accompined by four other young girls, but their parents pulled them out at the last minute because they were scared for their childrens as well as their own safety. In the interview me and my partner did with ruby bridges we learned that she didnt exactly know what she was doing (cause she was so young) all she knew was that she had to do it, bacuse it was the right thing to do.

If I could do any thing differently it would be that i wouldnt wait so long to put all my stuff on the board. We were putting the last touches on our board the day before we were to be judged, So we had to put a rush on it. I would also use more pictures and have more detail in my captions. And pick a topic that is more known =because it was hard finding some of the pictures we need were hard to find.

This year in NHD was way easier than last year. Last year I did an documentary and it was more time coonsuming than an exhibit. It took me and my partner a month to get all our images for our documentary and then when we put it togther it took us a week to edit it. While the exhibit wee found all our info printed it out and did our board in two days.

NHD reflection*

I chose Ruby Bridges because I am intrested in civil rights, segragation, and how hard African americans fought for their rights, like getting a Education. Ruby Bridges is important to history because she helped desegragate schools at a very young age, and to me for her to be able to go up against all those odds, like whites threatining her life she really interestes me.For this weeks research I found a website and it gives me information like her date of birth and when she first started school and other inportant things.

service learning reflection (may 01)

This week in service learning we decide that the work that even what our fake topic for our NHD survival imovie and it it going to be police brutality we ast and all agreed on that topic.

service learning reflection (april 21)

In the meeting we decided that we do a Imovie about "How to survive NHD" And then we seprated the topics like imovie, exhibit, performance, and paper. I was in the performance it was me and leshay and split the the paper in what was good about being in performance during NHD and what was not so great about it. The good thing is it's not thet many people in our group so easy to put people into even groups the only thing i don't like is that we're focusing on NHD

N.H.D Reflection

On my N.H.D project I worked with gloria onwugamba we did African Immigration in the form of documentary. During my project I learned about Africans and why they migrate to america and what the expect to accomplish. What was chalenging was trying to find the right music to go with our topic and also to find someone to interview. What we succeded in was finding the right pictures, in working together, and our documentary. Next year what I would do different would be to make sure i turn every thing in on time.
